Policy and Strategic Planning
Prepare long-, medium-, and short-term policies, strategies, and development plans for the sustainable growth of the mining, energy, and petroleum sectors.
Sector Data and Information Management
Collect, study, organize, manage, analyze, and coordinate sector information to support forecasting, planning, monitoring, and informed decision-making.
Workforce and Institutional Development
Promote skilled and qualified professionals and strengthen the institutional capacity required for the effective development and expansion of the sectors.
Policy Adaptation and Implementation
Adapt and implement federal mining and energy policies and strategies according to the actual conditions, priorities, and development needs of the Region.
Mineral and Energy Resource Development
Promote the productive use of construction minerals, mineral resources, wind, solar, biomass, biogas, hydropower, and other locally available energy resources.
Resource Studies and Modern Technology
Conduct renewable and non-renewable resource studies and apply modern technologies for electricity generation, technical analysis, and responsible resource development.
Licensing and Permit Administration
Issue, renew, suspend, or revoke licenses and permits for electricity, construction minerals, prospecting, exploration, and traditional or small-scale mining.
Regulatory Compliance and Supervision
Monitor licensed persons, companies, and investors to ensure compliance with mining, energy, petroleum, technical, operational, and safety requirements.
Mineral Revenue and Service Charges
Collect legally authorized fees, royalties, and service charges related to licensing, mineral exploration, extraction, and mining services.
Federal and Stakeholder Coordination
Cooperate with federal institutions and other stakeholders engaged in mining, water, energy, petroleum exploration, production, extraction, and resource utilization.
Petroleum Social and Environmental Responsibility
Study petroleum-related social impacts, recommend scientific investigations where damage is suspected, and support appropriate benefits for affected communities.
Fuel Station Standards and Legal Authority
Certify proposed fuel station sites, monitor technical and safety compliance, apply lawful measures, own property, enter contracts, and exercise legal standing.
