The Somali Regional State Mines, Energy and Petroleum Bureau has provided solar energy equipment to 100 displaced families resettled in Dhurwaale village, Qabribayax district.
The beneficiary families, who were previously living in Qoloji IDP camp, will use the solar systems for lighting and mobile phone charging, helping improve access to essential social services, education, healthcare, safety, and environmental protection.
The Director of the Energy and Electricity Department, Mohamud Mohamed Abdulahi, stated that the solar equipment distributed to these families is part of the Bureau’s broader plan to promote the utilization of diverse energy resources, particularly clean and sustainable solar energy suitable for remote communities.
The families who received the equipment expressed their appreciation, noting that the solar systems will significantly improve their daily lives and access to basic services.
